Felgner Film
Michael "Micke" Felgner

About Me
Films captured Micke Felgner’s attention from an early age – much to the dismay of his kindergarten teachers. What began as a childhood fascination has since become both his profession and his passion: telling stories that go beneath the surface.
As a director, writer and producer, he works at the intersection of narrative filmmaking, documentary influences and experimental visual language. He is particularly interested in how stories can be told visually – and how new technologies and virtual spaces open up entirely new narrative possibilities.
Together with producer Olga Stickel, he founded the production company FELGNERfilm in Cologne. Their work focuses on projects that deliberately challenge expectations: multilayered, emotional, sometimes uncomfortable – but always driven by the ambition to create something distinctive. For Micke, there are no fixed genre boundaries – only curiosity and the desire to rethink storytelling.
With the international filmmaking event Cinéma Sumeet, he brought together filmmakers from around the world and created a space where ideas could quickly turn into films – direct, collaborative and without detours.
As a self-taught filmmaker and career changer, he describes himself as a filmmaker “from the street” – someone who has developed his own approach to the medium and sees this as a core strength.
His current project Oh Daddy! (AT) is a short film that explores a socially taboo subject from a deeply personal perspective – visually reduced, intense and intimate.
